Hi I’m Elina,
Pattern and colour found in nature inspire my work whether it’s a landscape, seascape or still life.
I work in acrylics, inks, gouache and watercolour making my work bright and bold, sometimes more illustrative and decorative focusing on the different patterns, colours and shapes found in the natural world.
Art Nouveau, the Arts and Craft movement, Gustav Klimt and William Morris are just a few movements and artists I love.
I studied BA (Hons) Surface Design for Textiles and Fashion at Bath Spa University where I realised my love of painting and started experimenting with different techniques creating my own individual style.
Living in Somerset I find endless ideas for paintings from the beautiful countryside. My Scandinavian heritage has also inspired much of my work, particularly my Birch Tree and Finnish Lakeside prints.
